about
Lyrical concept - Ty Healy
On a rainy evening I penned this song thinking back to my English
Literature class where we learned about Pathetic Fallacy; giving inanimate things human feelings. Rain in particular makes me think of misery and so I decided to write the lyrics in a more poetical style using an overarching theme of weather equating to emotions.
lyrics
Rain go away
Pray the rain go away
Rain go away
I just pray the rain go away
It’s a trickle-down effect, pathetic fallacy
Weather matches mood, rain I'm sad to see
Settle down a sec, brighter days please
Be upon us pretty soon, rebalancing
Trickle down affect, pathetic fallacy
Weather matches mood, rain I'm sad to see
Settle down a sec, brighter days please
Be upun us pretty soon, rebalancing
Rain go away
I just pray the rain go…
Hey look up
The clouds look heavily pregnant
Waters break premature pure stressing
The forecast foreshadowed more shadows
Due to sunlight but now the rainbows will sure follow
Follow to the end to find a pot of the gold
But the bricks aren’t yellow like Dorothy's road
On the road they’re all white and cause all types of fuckery
My teenage crush became a prostitute and junkie
Once beautiful but the environment aint lovely
You’re a product of it, the product from it is ugly
But then profits from it, has fed families that's hungry
So the youts think that trappin' is the way to make money
It trickles down like water in a drain pipe
Street violence rises, watch how plummet
There's no ark like Noah's story arch
I flood the world with art, the wrath is coming
It’s a trickle-down effect, pathetic fallacy
Weather matches mood, rain I'm sad to see
Settle down a sec, brighter days please
Be upon us pretty soon, rebalancing
Trickle down affect, pathetic fallacy
Weather matches mood, rain I'm sad to see
Settle down a sec, brighter days please
Be upon us pretty soon, rebalancing
Rain go away
Pray the rain go away
Rain go away
I just pray the rain…
